According to Appleinsider, Apple will implement the HDMI interface in future Mac mini. The little Apple Mac mini is, for many of us, adopted as a server and/or a media player in the living rooms (running Plex, Boxee or otherwise), but is perfectly capable of being a personal computer. The latest Mac mini versions come with processors up to 2.53GHz, supports officially 4GB RAM (although it works with 8GB) and the server version with 2 x 500GB.

Apparently, new Mac mini prototypes are under development. HDMI interface is located between the Firewire port and Mini DisplayPort, replacing the current MiniDVI. With this new adapter – HDMI – it’s possible to connect the Mac mini directly the to the new Full HD LCDs and Plasmas without cable converters, saving complications and some loss of picture quality. So far, Apple only introduced the HDMI interface in the Apple TV.

The new prototype will also include a new NVIDIA MCP89 chipset to replace the current MCP79 (GeForce 9400M). There is no information about the new processors or other new resources, but it is suspected will be adopted (again) the current (with updated performance) generation Core 2 Duo, ignoring the i3 and i5. Mac mini computer is the most cheap Apple computer.
